Preparing for breastfeeding before your baby arrives can help you feel informed, confident, and ready for the early days of parenthood. An antenatal lactation consultation is an opportunity to discuss your feeding goals, ask questions, and learn what to expect, helping you start your breastfeeding journey with reassurance and practical knowledge.
During this 60-minute consultation, held in the comfort of your own home, we will cover topics tailored to your individual needs. This may include how breastfeeding works, positioning and attachment, recognising feeding cues, what to expect in the first few days after birth, building milk supply, expressing milk, partner support, and preparing for any specific circumstances or concerns you may have. If you've had previous breastfeeding challenges or have a medical history that may affect feeding, we can also discuss strategies to help you achieve your goals.
Every family is different, so your consultation will be personalised to you, providing evidence-based information and practical advice to help you feel prepared before your baby arrives.
Initial antenatal consultation (60 minutes, at home): £45
If you would like additional support during your pregnancy, follow-up antenatal consultations are available for £30, giving you the opportunity to revisit any questions, discuss your birth plans, or explore any new concerns as your due date approaches.
